Astronomers have found an "impossible" type of galaxies

When you first see through a telescope the galaxy, to confuse it with something else will be almost impossible. Galaxy is densely populated with bright objects, consisting of many millions of stars that are bound to each other because of gravitational forces, often having the shape of a sphere or spiral. However, astronomers recently discovered a new type of galaxies, which they call "fuzzy" or "hazy". While scientists are not quite sure how that's possible.

Galaxy Dragonfy 44 (pictured below) is one such "fuzzy" galaxies. She was discovered by machines Dragonfly Telephoto Array, and telescope, "Keck-1", located on the Hawaiian volcano Mauna Kea.

A team of astronomers compared the data obtained with two telescopes aimed at the Coma cluster of galaxies. The Coma cluster is about 300 million light-years from us and is in the constellation the Hair of Veronii, near the constellation Leo. Unlike other galaxies in this cluster, discovered a new galaxy that resemble shapeless clouds than clearly defined space structure. They're as big as our milky Way galaxy (about 60 000 light-years along), but contain only one percent of stars. Astronomers often call these galaxies sorressean.

According to scientists, galaxies of this type should not exist at all. If we, of course, right understand the concept of galactic formations. Nevertheless, their existence forces us to reconsider some of the hypotheses. And some researchers there have already beginning to have some new ideas. For example, astronomer Roberto Abraham of the University of Toronto, working with the Keck Observatory, shared in his statement the following:

"The big challenge for us is to determine, how could appear these strange and unclear to us space objects. Whether they "failed galaxies", which started its formation, but exhausted stocks of galactic material? Maybe they used to be ordinary galaxies? Or they represent parts of larger galaxies that were discarded and lost in space?"

A Yale University astronomer Pieter van Dokkum, who led the research sorressean galaxies, says that the most amazing feature of these galaxies is that they managed to survive and not be torn apart:

"It's amazing that they all survived. They are found in dense, turbulent regions of space filled with dark matter and other galaxies, so we assume that they may be protected whatever their own invisible "shield" of dark matter, which protects them from external intergalactic gap".

Aaron Romanowski, an astronomer at the University of California in San Jose decided to introduce what could be life on planets located in these sorressean galaxies:

"If any of the planets located inside sorressean of the galaxy, the life, it is likely that she would be unable to observe the line of light in the night sky (as we can see our milky Way), which would tell them that they're living inside the galaxy. The night sky in this case was much poorer in relation to the existence of stars".
