Biodegradable disposable plates from Michela Milani
Disposable plates and Cutlery are a real threat to the environment — in the end, it turns out to be in landfills, in the oceans or worse. The designers came up with different options, creating disposable tableware made from plant materials, dough, or even orange peels.
His decision at once two problems: food waste and reducing plastic waste, offers Michela Milani (Milani Michela), from the Italian design company WhoMade. She created a collection of biodegradable tableware from food waste, called Foodscapes.
While all our waste from the kitchen enter at best in the compost, or simply to the dump, Foodscapes designers decided to add another option to the utility, and applying a functional design, has transformed the remains of food in a bowl, giving it the form of seeds, which can be used for dry food.
According to the developers, this dishes has no additives, preservatives, dyes, thickeners, and regulators. Basically, utensils made of carrot peel and shell the peanuts.
After use, the dishes can be dissolved in water and then added to the soil for its enrichment, as well as compost. It's a pretty interesting idea that makes food waste more practical. published
