"AquaRing" — a device to collect rain water with solar disinfection

More than a billion people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water, and therefore, many industrial designers took on the challenge to develop environmentally friendly and inexpensive water purifiers which can be used in rural areas of the globe.

Basically, these devices are aimed at poor African and Asian countries.

Gadget "AquaRing" from designers Jan Tzanov, ELISA Makela, Stephanie Sauve and Olga Losak will quench the thirst of millions, collecting and filtering rainwater.

Rainwater is definitely one of the cleanest forms of water, however, because the air around is not very clean, the rain water also contains contaminants.

"AquaRing" is the answer to the problem of collecting rainwater and then using the SODIS process (solar water disinfection) allows to provide consumers with drinking water.

The device can also reduce the amount of plastic bottles sent to landfills annually, which will have a positive impact on the environment.

"AquaRing" may include multiple compartments to collect water. After filling them I can mix and roll in your desired location with the optional handles. published
