China will build a fleet of floating nuclear power plants

Searching for a suitable location for the construction of a nuclear power plant requires consideration of a number of very important aspects, and therefore is a very complicated task. Is required not only to calculate the economic benefit (the cheaper the construction and operation of the station, the better), but definitely agree on the construction plan for the further development of a region. So why this difficulty? Why not just transfer the plant to water? This is what is going to make China.

State-run Chinese newspaper Global Times reports that state-owned China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation plans to build up to 20 floating nuclear power plants. The Director of the General office of China Shipbuilding Li Cheng said in an interview that the floating NPP will be based upon the "most advanced technologies".

The power plants will be used for providing electricity to the most remote from the centers of the regions of the South China sea, including artificial Islands and oil platforms. Daily newspaper China, in turn, published a picture of how some will look like these floating nuclear power plants.

Of course, before the building need to solve a number of important issues. For example, how will need to act in the event of a tsunami, Typhoon or other natural disasters? Whether such nuclear power plants is quite strong and resistant to survive these disasters? Whatever it was, China's first floating nuclear power station could be built by 2018. published
