Twilight enhances your creativity
Recent studies show that dim lighting can enhance your creativity.
Scientists tested the creativity of subjects, asking them to come up with a science-fiction story, including a description of the aliens. "Guided by the idea that a creative approach contributes to productivity growth, scientists seek to identify the origins of creativity" - the authors write Anna Steidl from the University of Stuttgart and the University of Layoba Wirth Hockenheim.
Researchers have developed a series of experiments in which participants were asked to solve tasks that require creativity and create something original for different lighting conditions. The test came up and drew his ordinary aliens in the classroom: one group is going on in the dim light, the second - in neutral, and the third - under intense light, in addition, participants were asked to describe the feeling of different levels of illumination. As a result, volunteers are showing great creativity, not only in dim light, even when just imagine the thrill of it.
Additional tests showed that when the subjects were asked about their feelings when working in dim light (real or imagined), they claimed that the sense of "freedom, self-determination and a better decrease of barriers" in the course of experimental tasks. "Based on these results, we can say that the dim light promotes the release of creative energy, because it creates a sense of freedom from the restrictions and adjusts to" exploring "the method" - say Steidl and Wirth.
