Floppy Organ: «body» of the floppy disk drive

Floppy disks are now hardly used - although in some offices of the CIS are still working with them. However, in almost 100% of its currently no PC floppy disk drives. But the drives were in the storerooms of the IT employees of large and medium-sized companies with users who pity to throw away working iron. In one German youth club called "Skilful hands» Toolbox Bodensee eV , we decided to build from the drives to flopik musical instrument. To create the system used is also printed on a 3D printer parts.
Total instrument consists of 49 floppy disks and several dozens of pieces printed on a 3D printer. Musical instrument called Floppy Organ.
The creators of the system working on it for more than 3 months, and it was used 84 plastic parts 49 floppy drives, a large number of wires and tin solder for soldering. To print all the plastic parts 2 3D printer circle worked more than 30 hours.

Ready body was attached to the table, so that the system can be easily transported for demonstrations. Working with both the device can play MIDI-sheet file, and accept input from conventional keyboard.
