Siemens Velaro RUS Peregrine
To quote the author:
At the end of 2009 on the Moscow - St. Petersburg and Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod planned to launch a new high-speed train made in Germany Siemens Velaro RUS «Peregrine." To date, the Russian Railways has already delivered 4 of Velaro, and as many more are expected in the near future.
One of the compounds is already being tested on the line. Last week, as part of the beginning of 5000 the first run I was able to ride it on the route Moscow - St. Petersburg - Moscow. From a trip to Nizhny Novgorod I refused for personal reasons.
"Peregrine Falcon" is a desyativagonny composition capable of operating as a constant and alternating current. Trains to Russia, though made on the basis of a standard platform Velaro, but have a number of structural differences: they are wider and able to operate at lower outdoor temperatures. The maximum speed is officially 250 km / h, but during testing Velaro RUS managed to disperse the way up to 295 km / h.
Passengers are offered a level of comfort comparable to the airplane - comfortable seats, excellent sound insulation and excellent smoothness. The cars have a two-class layout headaches - business class, intermediate - tourist class. Differences to a minimum: in business class black upholstery, increased space for the feet and between the seats has a socket for recharging a laptop or mobile phone.
According to Andreas Lippa, chief designer of "Peregrine Falcon", which is now managed by the tests of the train (by the way, in Russian says he's pretty good), now the bulk of the research and improvements completed and begins break-part test. During the operation there were no serious faults and defects. All the modifications that have occurred have been linked to a greater extent with the wrong interpretation of German engineers "Rules of technical operation of railways track 1520mm," currently in force in the Russian Railways network.
In railcar depot Metallostroy to serve "Peregrine" is equipped with a separate workshop. When operating Velaro will be used scheduled preventative maintenance and repair of the system, but significantly different from currently used on the network. THAT will mainly be in the inspection of components and assemblies and diagnostics of computer equipment. For major repairs planned to attract German specialists. In Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod in the future it is planned construction inspection station.
The first trip with passengers scheduled for Railroad Day - the first Sunday in August.
