In sculpture of Buddha found mummified monk
Computed tomography and endoscopy Buddha statues of the 11th and 12th centuries, held in the Meander Medical Centre in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, showed that within the ancient shell are the mummified remains of a Buddhist master Lyutsyuan. The monk lived around 1100 and belonged to a Chinese school of meditation. "
"The fact that the inside of the statue are the remains of a man, was known earlier, but the survey was made another startling discovery: the removed internal organs found scraps of paper with ancient Chinese characters."
"Mummy Wizard now moved to Hungary, where she will be in the Museum of Natural History to May 2015."
"It should be noted that some Buddhist practitioners believe that these mummies are not dead, and are in an advanced stage of meditation."
