Photo tour of the Tower of David
The Tower of David is an ancient citadel located near the Jaffa Gate entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem.
One of the most populated squats (illegally occupied premises) in the world is an abandoned business center "Tower of David" in Caracas. Construction of the building began in 1990, but was suspended after three years in connection with the death of David Brillemburga project sponsor. Of 1993 it was built 45 floors of the 60 planned. Local gangsters took advantage of the situation, please * * itutki and coma. They illegally settled in the "Tower of David." In 2000, the anarchists led by David Lopez and Baptists led by Pastor Alexander Dazoy retook the building for personal use. Lopez subsequently paid for it with their lives.
Today there are about 2,500 squatters, 800 of whom are Baptists, 500 - anarchists, others - in varying degrees, support one of the communities. In order to avoid internal conflicts bimonthly members of both parties to arrange the meeting, where they discussed a variety of issues; to preserve peaceful relations with the government every resident skyscraper pays rent of $ 15 per month. It should be noted that for 14 years the first 28 floors turned into a very liveable. On the remaining 17 missing water and sanitation.
