Friends, in the continuation of the theme of the cultural treasures of the village of Satan, suggest a photo report about his visit to the fortress Satanovskiy partially preserved to this day.
The first mention of Satanov dates back to 1404 year. However, the development of the city is constantly hindered by regular attacks Tatars, who ravaged all of which happened. Therefore, to protect against Basurmanov the city built the castle. But Tatar raids from it have not stopped.

CASTLE, XIV, XV-XVI centuries., 1724
Located in the northern part of the village on the high left bank of the river. Zbruch. Built in the XV century. on the site of earlier fortifications XIV century. At the end of the XVI century. has been extended, I was pentagonal in shape with corner pentagonal towers. From the mid to the end of the XVII century. It has been destroyed. Along with the fortifications was restored in 1724. At present, three were pentahedral corner towers of the XVI century. and ancient, freestanding, round.

Overlapping - laid flat on the diagonal beams (not preserved). Loopholes - from expanding in both directions cheeks, rectangular skylights and arched bridges. The windows on the third tier - with arched bridges. On top of the walls of the third tier, in the north-west corner - white stone consoles, the parapet IV stage (not preserved). Under them - decorative belt from one of a number of bricks. At the corners of the facades of the tower, from the top of the scarp walls, built of white stone blocks.

West Tower of the decision and is similar to the safety of the north. Linking their defensive wall in the lower part has two openings, which are taken out into the ditch. The loopholes of the first tier are located high above the ground. The length of the wall on the north tower has 4 big windows with white stone architraves palace housing (not preserved).

Ancient round tower with a diameter of 6 m preserved to a height of four storeys. The thickness of the stone walls of the first tier 1, 2 m. Ceilings are flat on beams. The loopholes of the first and second tiers - with divergent inside the tower cheeks and light outer opening 13 cm in width and 25 cm in height. Framed and covered with white stone blocks. On the outer walls of the tower traces of the adjoining stone defensive walls of a thickness of 1, 1 m. To them three-quarters of the tower appeared on the floor side.

Since then, the city has three years belongs to the Turks, but Poland still regaining skirts, and with it, and Satan.
Castle Satanov visited the Russian Tsar Peter I. He lived in a small house lock. In memory of this it established the Russian coat of arms.
