Clumps of sand on Mars

Scientists were surprised to see what are the lumps of sand on Mars.
It's fantastic and a great success - see the smallest detail huge sand lumps on Mars in an area called «Kimberley», where at the moment for the past few weeks is the rover "Kuroziti." As it turned out in the course of the study and photography of the region, it is deservedly one of the most beautiful sandy regions on the surface of the Red Planet. At least the earlier scholars have never encountered such unique natural sandy landscape where so perfectly visible majestic sand lumps.

Photo these unique sand blocks was made March 29, 2014 American rover cameras "Kuroziti" and was provided for everyone to see researchers from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory after a detailed analysis.
Scientists suggest that in the ancient history of Mars water and wind played a crucial role in the formation of these huge blocks incorporating particles of sand. They are petrified and turned into a huge hard lumps, and then again repeatedly covered with ever new layers of Martian sand, which is more like the dust, because it has a fairly small fraction and less abrasive than sand on Earth.
