Abandoned power plant
London
Before heading out to explore the abandoned power plant, pay attention to the amazing building in London: electrical substation Dyuk Street.
This fine building was constructed in 1903 to the Westminster Electric Supply Corporation on the design of the Stanley Peach.
New York
On the New York underground railway has its own electric system, built in 1904. It is a huge complex, once a city obespechivavschy array is now forgotten. Its maximum capacity - about 132,000 horsepower.
Photos of some of the largest of New York's power plants located along the Hudson River:
Sweden
In Sweden, more than 50 underground substations located in shelters, bunkers built during World War II. Behind impenetrable walls here are powerful generators cooled by groundwater. These devices seem to survive all cataclysms:
Canada
The complex of BC Hydro in Vancouver includes some impressive (almost Gothic) disused hydroelectric plants, which furnish a suitable luxury hotel than industrial complex. These stations were built in 1903, and worked until 1964; they invested a staggering amount ($ 1, 300, 000, however, the majority of paid off), and so they just stand like sentinels along the river:
US
Yonkers, a city in the state of New York - "homeland" Glenwood power plant, built in 1906. In 1960 it was abandoned and never rebuilt. Its purpose was the same as that of the New York system - electricity supply w \ d network:
Unlike most other hydroelectric plants, White River Falls Power Station in Oregon looks cute and unassuming. The station was built in 1901 and closed after Votoroy World:
Construction Cherokee Nuclear Power Plant was stopped in 1983. Unfinished cooling tower was used as a «Deepcore» in the film «The Abyss». In 2007, just at the same place allowed to build a new station, the rest were sent for demolition.
Iran
Another abandoned power station - in the city of Bushehr. There was a reason for stopping Iran's signing of the agreement on the cessation of nuclear research:
The building was abandoned. It is located next to a huge transformer:
France and South Africa
To paint the cooling tower of nuclear station in Kruas, it took 9 climbers and 8,000 hours of work. Johannesburg cooling tower (picture on the right) has become a springboard for bungee jumping and replinga.
