Congratulations to all on International Children's Day !!!
Children's Day, which falls on the first day of summer, for some reason, was very popular in the former Soviet Union.
Especially among schoolchildren, which linked the protection of children from the beginning of the year the longest summer vacation. Students removed to beaches, river banks and lakes, and thus protect themselves from pesky teachers.
June 1 - one of the oldest international holidays. The decision to hold it was made of the International Democratic Federation of Women to the special session in November 1949.
The first International Children's Day was held in 1950. UN supported this initiative and announced protection of the rights, life and health of children one of its priorities.
