If the picture of the Sun each day at the same time, we get an interesting picture. During the year the Sun describe a figure called the analemma.
The reason for this annual motion of the Earth around the Sun and the tilt of Earth's rotation axis.
At the highest point of the analemma is the summer sun, and at the bottom - in the winter. When the northern hemisphere winter solstice, the sun is at the bottom of the analemma.
Analemmas created at different latitudes, will differ slightly from each other. If analemma be at different times of the day, they will also be different.
Analemma you see in the picture is made up of 46 separate photographs of the Sun taken during 2003 in the Greek capital Athens.
In the foreground of this picture captures the ancient portico of the caryatids Erechtheion, built in 407 BC
