The station and destruction in the engine room impresses. A day spent here was so much information about what happened on August 17 which must first digest, before writing about it. Today officially confirmed that it was not a hammer. And that - until now no one can say definitely.
In the picture - the second hydraulic unit, from which it started. Newbies forests of planks on the remains of arrangements are made for the convenience of the investigative team that works on the spot. Until this work is completed, about any further progress on the restoration work stations can be considered. Different people call the different dates of commissioning of the first three units, which have suffered less than others. All the Sayano-Shushenskaya will work as usual in five years, not before. Just being here, you know what a great job to be done. It seems that it is easier to build a new station than to parse this huge amount of twisted metal and restore the computer room.
Night shift workers are at the station, and I'm going home, dragging on itself backpack with cameras and notebooks. Another day in conversations with various people, photography in the rubble of twisted iron and torn like paper, concrete, trips around the HPP. Today I sat in the office of the Director of Sayano-Shushenskaya opposite the main man in the "RusHydro", listened to what he said and asked myself - how, after all, it so happened, what happened? I have no answer, it is not here yet no one. Anyway, about the causes of the disaster professionals tend not to talk, waiting for the conclusions of the expert committee. How does a country in a moment lost the largest hydropower plant, a source of pride to all those who built it once, and those who worked on it? Do we give an answer to this question? I do not know. Maybe. At some point, I stopped to think about it, not before. I see that the people here are now working standing, calm and confident in their abilities. It was sent to, as they say, the best specialists of the industry here in the day to decide the issues on which a decision normally takes weeks and months. This afternoon, the director of the Kama hydroelectric station, standing in a narrow cage back room of one of the recovered aggregates, proudly told me how eager here his men, he brought to the station of their "most-most" specialists and those injected tirelessly to quickly launch at least one generator. Siberia and, indeed, across the country dozarezu need this station and the men plow struggling. Although outwardly it looks so that to my untrained eye, it is impossible to rebuild. From the outside it looks like a work of ants, as they patiently and expertly rebuilt anew their anthill torn down someone's ill will. I do not know what caused the crash, I just want to show who and how recovers Now the power plant:
