Dagestan - Chirjurtsky hydroelectric (50 photos)

In the central mountains of Dagestan at the confluence of the Avar and Andean Coys formed rough and rapid river Sulak. This is one of the major river systems of Dagestan with a total length of 144 km. In 1954 Kizilyurt district "SulakGESstroy" USSR Ministry of Energy launched the preparatory work for the construction of the first hydroelectric power station on the river. Already in December 1955 the first bridge was built on the river. Sulak, started the development of pits and soil, and in 1958 completed the construction of the power house and the entire set of facilities engaged in water supply and drainage to the station site HPP. Then began the construction of dam, and in March 1959 the river Sulak was blocked.



December 22 this year will be exactly 50 years from the date of commissioning Chirjurtsky HPP-1. In that distant day in 1961 the launch of the station carried out a duty engineer Zubair Magomedov, who later during the 37 years he headed Chiryurtionskaya HPP Cascade.

The complex consists of 3 Chiryurtionskaya hydroelectric power stations: Chirjurtsky HPP-1, HPP-2 Chirjurtsky and Gelbakhskaya GES (GES-3 Chirjurtsky). The complex is the bottom step of the cascade Sulak.

Hydroelectric power - 9 MW. The building has a single Kaplan hydraulic unit, operating at a head of your payable 7m. On it you can see the number "3" - a common numbering with HPP-1.



In late 2008, hydropower was held extensive repairs. In particular, it has been replaced by a stator of hydraulic generator and excitation system, and change the shape of the suction tube.
