The roads in ancient Pompeii
On the streets of Pompeii preserved original "zebra" transitions from evenly on the middle step of man laid, smooth stones. During heavy rain, when the torrents of muddy water swept along the cobbled street, it was easy to go to these sublimely stones.

In Pompeii kept track, embossed wagons 2000 years ago, in the form of deep trenches in the cobblestone streets.
And it can be judged that the movement in the streets was one-sided. Sidewalks on both sides of the streets are quite high. These they have done to protect pedestrians. Pavement curbs have served as a guide wheel carts.
