House of the wall

The first subway line was built in London in 1863. The technology of construction, to put it mildly, not very rational - they just dug a big hole and then covered with earth on top of the tunnel. Many houses had to be demolished.
One such accident was the house on Leinster Gardens. But, so as not to spoil the view of the prestigious street, decided to erect a false facade of the building, half a meter thick.
The local pranksters age-old tradition to call pizza, taxi and distributors of religious literature to this address. And once one wise guy even sold tickets for a charity ball - guests in evening dresses, gathered around a fake home, very impressive sight, probably.
