It is worth noting that now cost smartphones with Firefox OS are sold in 15 countries, and markets a further 12 countries planned to "open" for sales of such devices. This - Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Germany, Nicaragua, Panama, Guatemala.

With Mozilla cooperating with many handset manufacturers and carriers, including Deutsche Telecom, Telekomsel and Indosat.

A few days ago Mozilla announced a partnership with the manufacturer of chipsets for low cost mobile devices, we are talking about Spreadtrum. The new partner will produce single-core chipset SC8621 for those most 25-dollar smartphone.

The device itself is unlikely to "pull" the productive application / game, but the basic functions it will perform pretty well. Especially because specifications are quite good: single-core processor with 1 GHz, 2 GB of internal memory, 1 GB of RAM. In addition, in the presence of 3, 5-inch display with a resolution of 480 * 320, 2-megapixel camera.

Such smartphones will work with the ecosystem Web / HTML5 applications. Basic functions of the device must meet the average user's hand: calls / sms, music playback, video playback, Internet browser, e-mail.

Also planned and qwerty-smartphones with the same configuration (only the display will not 3, 5-inch and 2, 5-inch, because the keyboard takes place).
