Organization Global Space Balloon Challenge
announced the international educational competition to launch balloons in space (the stratosphere). Participants invited activists from around the world.
Prizes are awarded in three categories: best design, best picture and the highest rise.
Participation is free. Organizers note that the ball with the equipment will cost 200-700 dollars, so competition is quite democratic: can participate and students, and students. List of materials see. here
Each team that participates in the competition must run a balloon from 18 to 21 April. The ball must be equipped at least a transmitter and a GPS-camera for shooting. Each team must have at least two people: there is such a demand for security because the ball pumping helium / hydrogen can be dangerous for one person, as well as search for the fallen basket. Experience shows that the basket can land in remote places: mountains, lakes, oceans, deserts, and so on.
