Portrait of carnations

The artist Hong Yi (Hong Yi), better known under the pseudonym «Red», introduced another job in his usual style - painting without a brush. She has already shown the creations of melted wax, sunflower seed from stains from coffee and ketchup sock. At this time, the material for paintings became real flowers. Portrait of a Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi is laid out exclusively from fresh cut carnations.





After watching the film, in which the opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi was fighting for democracy in Burma, Hong Yi I was inspired to create her portrait. The daughter of Burmese nationalist leader General Aung San - the first person in the world, which Western journalists in the XXI century, awarded the title "Hero of Our Time."



In the artist used white carnations and food coloring. Experimenting with different variations of shades, she put flowers in plastic cups with the dye. After about half an hour, clove absorb colored solution thereby stained petals. Short stems contribute more color saturation. For 40 hours, the brightness of the color reached its maximum intensity.









Portrait of a 3, 5x4, 5 meters consists of 2 thousand white carnations. Hong Yi for his work pays tribute to this heroic woman as Aung San Suu Kyi. And hopes that it will see and admire not only the Burmese people, and throughout the world.
