Exhibition Dior Impressions

May 4 at the Christian Dior Museum in Granville opens an exhibition entitled «Dior Impressions», which is a symbiosis of the finest couture creations of the legendary fashion house famous paintings and Impressionist painters. For each exhibit haute couture will be a couple of "flower" paintings, among which are the colorful works by Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas and other famous artists from the world of art.





Christian Dior spent his childhood in a villa in Granville, where now a museum in his name. The sea, gardens and fields that the future couturiers admired in those years, became for him a source of inspiration for many years to come. Even established in 1947, the legendary new look, according to the designer, became his attempted pass into the clothes images, inspired by the magic of nature: thin waist was associated with flexible stems, flowers, fluffy skirt flare fluffy clouds, and Basque and draperies symbolized delicate petals. < br />


Many years later, the creation Dior House still remind us of blooming gardens - to take at least the last couture collection Raf Simons - it is not surprising that for his new exhibition fashion house chose the flower theme in the works of artists. By the opening of the exhibition as a timed release of the album with photos on pages that can be found paintings and images along with commentary from historians, fashion and art.
