Infantry Museum is located in the town of Mikkeli. The museum is located in the premises of the old barracks, founded in 1881. The exposition is located in two buildings. The main building presents the history of the infantry during Finland's independence and the Second World War.
In 1881, in Finland 8 barracks were built, one in the capital of Finland and seven barracks by area. Barracks Mikkeli survived in perfect condition.
The last war left the barracks in 1976. The museum was opened in 1982.
Now the museum is owned by an independent organization "Fund of infantry».
The original furniture has survived to our time.
