Travel Dnepropetrovsk: Introduction
All our life passes in periodic movements. Someone they are longer, someone shorter. It does not matter what we say about the time or distance. People come and go, but the city remains.
The author is one of those "come in large numbers." Immediately warn that pictures copyright and do not claim to artistic value, and comments filled the subjective opinions of the author, whose opinion may be different from your :)
One of the pride of the city - Waterfront, the length of which is more than 23 kilometers, and this, incidentally, the highest "result" in Europe.
Quay provided with a plurality of stone sculptures, which clearly created about ten sculptures several years ago.
A special attraction is the Festival Quay berth. The key word, of course the Festival, not as you might think :) mooring berth drunkenness, parties, weddings and other folk festivals.
Well, of course, as everywhere else, where people relax - a lot of catering establishments and one public toilet for all 23 kilometers of happiness :)
On the river through the embankment watching the circus building.
A city with more than a million people most affected by traffic jams. Only in the early morning and late evening the central line may look like this.
Of course, the city will appear at normal underground - would be easier. But the fact that today there are at Dnepropetrovsk more like a stepdaughter, and never became Cinderella. The appendix of the six stations connecting sleeping bags, industrial zone and railway station - dull. Even funnier its total length - 7, 8 kilometers.
Dnipropetrovsk is full of contrasts. It is necessary to make a hundred steps to the side, both the 21-th century you step into the 19th.
These are pieces of remaining pristine "beauty" Jewish neighborhoods.
Very clever houses, most of which have at least two exits, and on different streets.
However, back to the city center. Here lies one of the oldest buildings in the city - the main post office.
Opposite him is the city executive committee. It involves an interesting story that happened a couple of years ago. During Soviet times, there have not only the city council, but the city Party cell. A couple of years ago it became known that the number of officials was so great - all that space is not enough. And they say that the Soviet - era bureaucracy :)
The city center is becoming beautiful, even though some 15 years ago, it looked like a flea market somewhere in Muhosranske.
A little bit about the culture. The central place of arrival of the megastars megafabrik and other debris creativity is the theater of opera and ballet with musical fountain nearby.
Right next to it is the Russian Drama Theater named after Gorky, which go all the same pleasant and interesting.
In the center, there is the Theatre Square Theatre Shevchenko, but he looks more like a Soviet canteen compared with a cozy cafe (sorry for these analogies).
Not all so smoothly in the cultural life of the city. Here, for example, the building of the Palace of Culture named after Lenin.
In the park area of one of the main places of rest of the townspeople - Shevchenko Park, it is a former palace of Potemkin, now became the Palace of students. Here, the "cooked" students creative people and not only.
Generally, the higher the park begins a kind of campus. Here is located the majority of educational buildings of universities and dormitories. On the way there, you will meet the October Square. Here is the Transfiguration Church and a very remarkable stone column - Catherine miles. They are on the territory of Russia and Ukraine are quite a few survived.
Here, near the Historical Museum with its stone women, and others, Diorama and all sorts of things from the era of the Second World War.
Further, if we move in the direction of students and Gagarin avenue brings you to the Walk of Fame, starting with the tank. Everyone enough napivshiysya student simply had to climb to the «Tank."
One of the meeting places and absenteeism tapes is a place called "Lomonosov".
Here, very close, it was a wonderful place with a basement shouting the name of "Fishnet". It is unfortunate, but it is no longer in nature. Therefore, students are "crammed" into a more pompous places :)
In this first part of the tour ends. A couple of easy shots of the city and to new stories of Dnepropetrovsk. We will talk about transport, beaches and unusual artefacts of the city.
Dnepropetrovsk women are so severe that the damage, male drivers do not even need to open the hood.
Railway tachanka near the train depot.
The locomotive of the WWII, apparently, did not drive to Berlin.
Dawn above the left bank of the city.
On the hill left - and here it is Nagorka (so-called Nagorno-market at the intersection of Prospect Street and Gagarin Chernyshevsky).
