The famous German photographer never lived throughout the last century and claims to be the author, embodying all persons. Just the title of his most ambitious photographic project, which he never published in his lifetime.

August Sander (August Sander) was born to a carpenter November 17, 1876, in the small town Herdorf. Here, working at the mine, and met for the first time with a photo. On his 16th birthday was a gift from his uncle first camera. During his military service he worked as a photographer's assistant. After several years of travel was arranged at a shop in Linz, where a couple of years of diligence deserved partnership working conditions, and then he became the owner of the studio. In 1904 August won the gold medal at the photo exhibition in Paris. In 1906, organized his first solo exhibition. In 1929 Zander published the book "The Face of Our Time", which contains 60 portraits. But with the rise of Hitler, the spread of forbidden books. The Second World War alienated from the masters of society. He went to the countryside, and the studio was destroyed during the bombing. Success came to him only in the early 60s.
