Between the Bronx and Riker's Island on the River East River is a deserted island - North Brother. In 1885 there was built a hospital for the treatment of viral diseases, and after World War II on the island were placed veterans. Later in the 1950m, the island was built by North Brother rehabilitation center teenage drug addicts, but 1960go, the island is completely deserted and guarded by police in New York and Coast Guard.
