Celebrating the "sinful Tuesday" in England (11 photos)

The last day before Lent, Catholics called "Sinful Tuesday" (when one confesses his sins), or, in French, Mardi Gras (which means "Fat Tuesday"). Because while fasting should refrain from foods of animal origin, Mardi Gras - the last chance to use them.

In England Sinful Tuesday pancake races are held when a huge number of people competing in the race, on the move tossing pancakes on a griddle.
