The plant was planted in places of eternal rest of the Cossacks. In such cases, the Kalina symbolized the continuity of the family and the freedom of the nation.



They also planted Kalina near the house. People believed that this would attract happiness and good luck, as well as help to improve family relationships and solve difficult problems. The plant became a kind of bait for prosperity and well-being. Kalina kept people out of trouble. It inspires and nourishes people with energy.

There were also garden and weather signs associated with kalina. For example, when the kalina bloomed, it was worth starting to sow pumpkin, corn and cucumbers. If the kalina was already ripe, and the leaves on it remained green, this foreshadowed a warm autumn. And if the clusters began to blush early, people waited for cold and early winters.



Kalina was often planted near the house where the newly-made spouses settle. According to the sign, this helped strengthen the marriage and saved the newlyweds from quarrels and omissions. As a home amulet, branches and berries of kalina are used. For example, a pair of dried berries can be put in a jacket or jacket pocket. Protection will work at the energy level.

It has long been believed that Kalina protected the health of the bride in the new house and helped her become a good wife and a worthy successor of the family. The plant helps not only to preserve, but also to increase female strength, energy and beauty.
