The creative path of Maya Plisetskaya

Maya Plisetskaya - a legendary ballerina, a beautiful woman and a favorite of famous couturiers. She is the only woman who, having not traveled for a long time outside the Soviet Union because of her parents who suffered from repression, managed to dress as if she had bought all the outfits in Paris. She is considered an icon of the style of those times.

Editorial "Site" I admire the talent and style of the great Maya Plisetskaya. She paid great attention to her appearance and always looked perfect, even when there was almost no money. This woman has a lot to learn.

The legend of the ballet “The outer shell molds the image”. Just her. By it we build our perception of personality. It is the basis of our judgment of the human species, said Maya. She knew exactly what they met on clothes, so she was always demanding of her wardrobe. Since it was impossible to buy imported items, she ordered them from the Farmer Clara, who eventually made history.

Naturally, clothes, underwear and bags cost Clara a lot of money. Therefore, Plisetskaya did not hesitate to perform in cold provincial clubs, so that there was something to buy outfits for. Outer clothes, often fur coats, she sewed at the theater costumer. One day, the ballerina’s favorite gray doodle coat was worn out and some of its parts were replaced with a splint cloth. They made a hat out of the same material. As a result, this outfit was desired by all fashionistas of that time.

In the '60s. ballerinaPlaying Carmen, she appeared on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre in a too short outfit. To which Ekaterina Furtseva, the Minister of Culture of those times, said: "Simple eroticism ..." This is an alien way! Put your skirt on, Maya! And once Maya was walking along the street in a long doodle coat, and a passer-by threw the ballerina after: “Oh my God, a sinner ...” At all times women could not forgive other beauty.

When Maya Plisetskaya received the long-awaited permission to tour abroad, she met many world designers. Her closest and most fruitful collaboration was with Pierre Cardin, whom she met in 1971. He called her his muse, and interacted with creative personalities for 35 years. Pierre designed the ballerina’s outfits for performances and everyday life.

By the way, in the USSR, viewers did not even suspect who sews dresses for a ballerina, because the Minister of Culture forbade to mark the name of a foreign designer on posters. After the Iron Curtain fell, the ballerina found a way to thank the great couturier: in 1998, she organized a joint show “Fashion and Dance” in the Kremlin.

The talent and style of the ballerina were also admired by Yves Saint Laurent, Roy Halston and Jean-Paul Gaultier. Plisetskaya posed for many fashion photographers and one of the first Soviet artists starred for Vogue magazine.

While touring abroad, Maya Plisetskaya also met Coco Chanel, who at that time was over 80. Especially for the ballerina, the designer arranged a fashion show, offering Maya herself to demonstrate to the models how to walk on the catwalk and wear clothes from Chanel.

Even after leaving the stage, Maya remained a trendsetter. She always looked elegant and feminine. That was how she lived for 89 years.

Maya Plisetskaya is a real example of how a woman can look amazing in any situation, regardless of financial status and political regime. Share interesting information with your friends on social networks!
