Why not ignore your parents’ calls

Relationships with parents are not always smooth. Miscommunication between parents and children can occur when the child is 16 years old and when he is over 40. As time goes by, mom and dad don’t get any younger. And the fact that you need to appreciate every moment while they are alive, some think too late. Sometimes there may be a feeling that the parental call is not important, because there are urgent matters at work, care for their own family. Sometimes the realization of something terrible comes suddenly: it can be an anxious dream or an unexpected memory, a strong desire to call the most dear people right now.

Lyudmila came home after work, set the table, and she and her husband and son sat down for dinner. The phone rang, Luda saw her mother calling. Turning off the sound, she continued the meal with the thought: “Already and dinner will not give quietly.”

Luda always believed that her parents gave her nothing in life. Everything she has, the woman has achieved herself. She worked hard to save for her own house, got married, gave birth to a son. Over time, concerns appeared and appeared, so there was no time for yourself and your thoughts. And this time, Luda decided that the call would wait. She wanted to gain strength, take a break, and then she would call her mother back.

As is often the case, Luda forgot about the phone call. Only at night did her father dream. He called her, asked for help. Lyuda was out of her mind from the very morning, she felt anxious and called her mother. Her voice was broken, as if her mother had been up all night. “Come here, Dad wants to see you.”

Lyudmila promised that she would come to the village to visit her parents as soon as she could. She told herself she had to get things in order at work first. She hasn't been in the village for a year, all work and work. Thoughts about the father did not give people peace.

The relationship between them was strained. My father did not want Luda to marry Lesha. In general, her father had a bad temper, and they did not get along very well with each other. A few years ago, Dad came to visit without warning to establish relations with his son-in-law. Then Lyuda was not very happy to see him, the next day she bought him a ticket home: "We have a crowded place, you better leave," - with these words she handed her father the phone and told to call if you need anything.

My dad has been having health problems lately. He became weaker, and on the persuasion of his mother to come to visit them Luda did not react. All these sad thoughts swarmed in the woman’s head. Finally, Luda decided to take a few days off from work, got on the train and went to her parents.

It was necessary to walk 3 km to the house, Lyuda forgot how pleasant the native village smells. The closer she came to her parents’ house, the stronger she wanted to hug her mother and father. Mom met me at the wicket.

According to the expression of her mother, Luda realized that she was late: “Heart attack,” her mother said. They drank tea silently, Lyuda did not dare to speak, a lump in her throat did not let her do it. Luda stayed for a few days to help her mother settle the funeral and say goodbye to her father. Before leaving, the mother gave her daughter an envelope, said that the letter was given to her by her father. Already on the train, Luda turned it around with shaking hands and began to read.

Tears splashed from his eyes and ink smeared. It was a sheet from a school notebook in which the father said goodbye to his daughter: "Lude, my dear." I wasn't the best father. Didn't give you everything you deserved and wanted, I'm sorry. Don't be angry. I am very proud of you and I want you to be happy. I love you, take care of your mother.”
