A giant wind turbine have set a new record for energy production in Denmark
The turbine is placed at the Danish National test center for large wind turbines in the city Osterle, per day produced nearly 216,000 kWh of electricity. This is enough to provide electricity to standard U.S. house for 20 years.

The height of the new turbines is around 220 meters, and the length of its 38-ton blades is of the order of 80 meters. The area described by the blade surface exceeds 21 000 m2, which is even larger than the area of the London Ferris wheel London Eye.
"Now we are sure that our turbine of 9 MW has proved that it is ready for release to the market, and believe that it will play an important role in reducing the cost of coastal wind energy," says Torben Hvid, chief technology officer of the company MHI Vestas Offshore Wind.The increased power and, therefore, the size of wind turbines is indeed one of the key factors in lower prices for wind energy. Partially through the use of large turbines 7 and 8 MW in new projects the price of wind energy in the UK has fallen by 32% over the past 4 years. published
