Ford will release an electric crossover with a cruising range of 480 km

The American automaker has shared his plans for electrified vehicles at the consumer electronics show CES 2017. Ford stated that among other new machines plans to release in the next five years, a hybrid version of the iconic F-150 pickup truck and Mustang in the US, as well as hybrid Transit van for Europe and a model all-electric crossover for the global market.



According to the management of the company, electrocreaser Ford "will be different to any electric SUV, which is produced today," and a cruising range on one charge of the batteries is not less than 483 km (300 miles).

"As more and more consumers worldwide are becoming interested in electric cars, Ford is committed to be a leader in creating a wide range of electrical models and also services and solutions that make people's lives better, noted company President mark fields. Our investments in the expansion of the model range confirms our conviction, within 15 years, the demand for electrified vehicles will exceed the demand for cars with internal combustion engines".



 

Ford also announced plans to invest $ 700 million for the expansion of the Assembly plant in Flat Rock Michigan that will build a high-tech unmanned vehicles and electric cars together with the Mustang and Lincoln Continental. Therefore, the company will create 700 new jobs.

These steps are part of an investment of $ 4.5 billion, which the manufacturer intends to invest in the development of new electric cars by 2020.

Ford also plans to conduct "an aggressive policy" the development of electric mobility services and solutions on a global scale and actively implement the system of Autonomous driving in its vehicles. Thus, the company is testing today in new York taxi service Transit Connects, which includes 20 connected hybrid minivans Ford Escape Hybrid.
