The Serbian “capital of pepper”

The village of Donja Lakosnica is the Serbian “capital of paprika”, since almost all of the 1300 inhabitants engaged in the cultivation of paprika. As soon as autumn comes, the whole village becomes red due to the strands of peppers that are dried on the walls of village buildings. Paprika dried, as many years ago, with the help of fresh air and sun.
