Mercedes introduced the 408-strong electrocreaser

Mercedes-Benz has brought on the Parisian motor show 408-strong conceptual electrocreaser Generation EQ. The production version of the prototype, which will appear in 2019, will be able to compete with Tesla Model X, and future electric utility companies Audi, Porsche and Jaguar.





Mercedes-Benz Generation of EQ is equipped with two electric motors — one for the front and rear axle. Total return units amounted to 300 kilowatt (408 horsepower) and 700 Nm of torque. Crossover is capable of accelerating from standstill to a hundred kilometers per hour in less than five seconds.

The engines are powered from a Li-ion battery with a capacity of more than 70 kilowatt hours, providing a range of 500 kilometers. The prototype has an innovative system of charging the battery for five minutes it makes up for the amount of energy, which is enough to drive an extra hundred kilometers.



Electric cars have no windshield wipers and door handles, and the traditional external mirrors replaced by rear view cameras. In addition, the prototype set a large panoramic roof and 21-inch wheels and a special aerodynamic shape.



Mercedes-Benz Generation EQ got led interior lights, fully digital instrument panel with a diagonal of 21 inches, multi-function steering wheel with OLED two touch panels. The image from the rear view camera displayed on additional monitors mounted in the front doors.



The prototype was equipped with a new navigation system on the basis of the map service HERE, which BMW, Audi and Daimler bought the company Nokia. Using these "smart" Navigator, electronics crossover is able to automatically set the optimum speed, and also change the settings of the chassis.



The production version of the concept car will be produced under the sub-brand EQ, under which the Germans will sell their all-electric machines. A new family of cars will include at least four models — two sedans and two SUV. published
