Castle in Vyshnivets'

The first mention of Vyshnivets ' dates back to the year 1395, the owner was a nice family sport, which left a significant trace in the history of Ukraine and Poland. At first the castle was located on the right Bank of the river Goryn, now this territory is the village of Old Vishnevets. Subsequently, the princes Vishnevetskaya moved the castle to the left Bank of the Goryn and in 1720 the last representative of the genus, Michael-Servati rebuilt the castle into a luxurious Palace.

The next owners of the Palace counts of Mnishek gave the building even more beautiful and shiny look.In the mid-nineteenth century Mnishek sold the Palace, and after that, he has several times passed from hands to hands that contributed to the strong dispersion of historical and cultural values, among which was a large and famous library, many paintings and other valuable things.

During the first world war the Palace was badly devastated by Austro-Hungarian and Russian forces, but in the interwar years the building was restored. In the 1920-ies an active part in the restoration was attended by famous architect Vladislav Gorodetsky. However, during the second world war the Palace was badly damaged. In Soviet times the building hosted a library, a vocational school, a cultural center and even a leather factory.

Since 2005, the Palace began the restoration work. Now here is the branch of the Museum-reserve "Castles of Ternopil" and there are plans for the construction of the Museum and hotel and entertainment complex.
