The scientist promised to make edible bottle
Abandoning harmful to the environment plastic, it is possible to make containers for food and beverage containers edible, to impart the appropriate flavor palette. So, packing of tomato ketchup will have the taste of tomatoes and the package of wine – grapes.
As reported by Mail Online, extravagant is an initiative of Dr. David Edwards (David Edwards) from Harvard University, which is famous for the creation of "breathable food". Among other things the scientist have produced a caffeine and chocolate inhalers entered the market and causing a mixed reaction.
The new project is called WikiCells. According to the official description "bicicletas", they are composed of "membranes natural foods containing liquid, emulsion, foam or solid". Apparently, the container Edwards can be compared to a boiled chicken egg. Then the surface (protective) layer of WikiCells will be in analogy with the shell (biodegradable polymer), an edible shell – protein and the contents of the container, yolk. (As an option, no shell in WikiCells may not be.)
Edwards hopes to soon create a prototype edible bottles and try a delicacy in restaurants and specialty stores. And in the foreseeable future, the scientist wants to build a machine that will allow consumers to produce WikiCells at home – "with a practically inexhaustible variety of membranes and forms, with a wide range of food and beverages." Note that the idea of edible packaging, wrappers and utensils is as old as plastic world, but its large-scale implementation have not yet been and was a freakish experiment (clothes from milk) or art project (dress of wine).
