Vertical Necropolis. Cemetery in India

Cemetery architecture of the countries and peoples of the world, strange as it sounded, colorful and diverse. Related to one of the most important stages in a person's life – the transition to the other world – many religions, nationalities and Nations are often not only similar to each other, but differ in everything from external forms, internal death.


Due to certain problems with the growing number of population in the capital of India decided to erect a vertical cemetery, calling it a Vertical Necropolis. Such a novel idea futuristic necropolis came to mind Indian architect Ankita Kumar (Annkit Kummar), which is going to bring it to life in a multimillion Delhi. The population is increasing so fast that according to some forecasts by 2050 the number of inhabitants of India will exceed 1.7 billion. Accordingly, given the high mortality rate in this region, the number of cemeteries will also increase. It is assumed that the Necropolis will be multi-tiered Vertical storage of urns with ashes of deceased Hindus, which are traditionally burned. But in addition to adherents of Hinduism in India there are a number of the followers of other religions and faiths, which this idea seems quite do not like.


Immediately after the presentation of the project of the vertical necropolis began discussion of how to design solution and ethical issues relating to the committal, and the visual effect of the building.
