The future of public transport from Rinspeed MicroMax
Fanciful concept MicroMax, the Swiss company Rinspeed, blurs the line between individual and public transport, combining the convenience and privacy of a car with the versatility and usability of the tram or train.
Their appearance MicroMax is clearly confusing. On the one hand, fully bus-like, with the usual vertical glazing, sliding doors to starboard and unusual landing of the driver and passengers, but it's the future, enclosed in the body length of 3.7 meters, a total reinvention of the concept of public transport.
The company Rinspeed hopes that in the near future, cities will move a lot of these "trolley buses" and they will unite thanks to modern cloud technologies. Through the global network it will be possible to specify only the endpoint of the path, and the system urbanSWARM, analyzing the routes of all MicroMax's, will choose the nearest electric car, which takes you to your destination.
Rinspeed Micromax will be front-wheel driven electric motor of an output 32kW through "trolley" up to 50 km / h in 8 seconds. Lithium polymer batteries will last only 100 km but that is enough for short trips around town. However, the dynamics or endurance shouldn't expect from a car designed only for travel to work and, as the developers promise, worth up to 10 thousand euros.
