Light installation in Portland: sculpture solar

An unusual light installation located in the U.S. city of Portland, Oregon. The incredible five-metre high sculpture of irregular shape and bright colors are along the North West Davis Street. According to the authors of the project designer Dan Corson, sculpture is meant that at least for some time to distract people from the hassles and anxieties of life.

The author of this installation said that the installation was inspiring him "thicket monkey" is the winding tropical pitcher plant, the leaves of which accumulates the water, and use monkeys in order to quench their thirst.

Installation Corson named Nеpenthes, which translated from Greek means "magic potion" that will allow the drinker to forget her grief and pain. LED sculpture, like the legendary medicine that is designed to ensure that people at least temporarily happy.



Unusual sculptures made of transparent glass, which is fixed to the steel frame with LEDs. Energy LEDs produced by solar batteries mounted in the installation. All the sculptures are similar in shape, but each is unique with color and lighting.
