Ancient plate with unknown images discovered in Egypt

Al Kharga is located 175 kilometres West of Luxor ― a well known tourist centre and ancient capital. According to Egyptologist Salima Ikram, spiders are the mythological figures of many cultures of the world. The most famous example is the ancient Greek goddess Arachne. "Probably, ancient authors were influenced by arthropods of the species Argiope lobata, ― the Egyptologist.― These Orb-web spiders are widely distributed in steppe and desert zones, and their network, spread among the vegetation of the oasis and illuminated with bright sun, must have made a lasting impression on the authors of stone carving".
