Salamanders will be able to treat people

Australian scientists have studied the peculiarities of salamanders and decided that these amphibians can be useful to people. Using them in the future doctors will be able to restore lost limbs, who have suffered in different accidents.
"We still need to study how salamanders go as fast to recover and build up the lost bodies. But it is already clear that if we succeed, we will be able to apply this knowledge to humans," – said the study's lead author James Godwin.
He said that the ability to regenerate limbs is because in the body of the Salamander has a lot of macrophages – immune cells that are capable of active capture and digestion of bacteria, debris dead cells and other toxic or foreign to the body particles.

It is also known that if the lizards tear off the tail, after some time she will grow to new, and salamanders, or as they are called water dragons can grow not only tails, but also the lungs, legs and even eyes. Thus, it should be noted that the new bodies is not worse than the previous one.
Scientists believe that the study of the regenerative abilities of salamanders will help to understand how to treat brain injury in humans. In addition, this knowledge may lead to new treatments for liver and heart disease, as well as recovery after surgery, preventing the formation of scars.
