Oil from algae will do for a couple of minutes

Researchers at Pacific Northwest national laboratory (Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, or PNNL) USA made new economical and fairly quick process of turning algae into crude oil. They say that nature creates a million years the reactor can sometimes be within tens of minutes. The Company Genifuel Corp. patented the technology and started to create a pilot plant for the preparation of oil.

The transformation of algae into oil, the stock of which is severely reduced – a goal on which work is underway in many laboratories of the world. In early 2013 the team of PNNL reported on the successful solution of this problem.
But the problem lies in the fact that the proposed process is actually complicated and expensive. It consisted of a number of chemical reactions, which required huge expenses.

Now the same team came up with a method to significantly reduce the process – PNNL engineers were able a whole chain of reactions to produce almost at the same time and without interruption. Found a method to get rid of the pre-treatment of algae – their drying. Now they will be able to enter the reactor together with water.
