The fuel battery on the sugars showed unprecedented efficiency

Several scientists under the guidance of Percival Zhang (Y. H. Percival Zhang) from the Polytechnic University of Virginia (USA) invented the rechargeable battery based on sugar, specific capacity, which is many times greater than existing lithium-ion counterparts.

Scientists used a cascading set of enzymes, which is mixed in combinations not found in nature, at one time economical and effective.
Indeed, the ultimate system is sufficiently close to hydrogen or ParameterName fuel element. But there are important differences: the "fuel" in the new sugar battery will serve as maltodextrin — a polysaccharide obtained through partial hydrolysis of starch (if you chew starches, you will feel it taste). The oxidant is atmospheric air, and "exhaust" is ordinary water. And no need for platinum as a catalyst, as it is the role of inexpensive enzymes.

New enzyme battery, and the fuel is non-explosive, does not burn, and the materials from which it is quite biodegradable. The battery is easy to recharge with the operation, of complexity not exceeding the replacement cartridge in the printer.
