Green energy: hang-glider turbine over Alaska
In Alaska, in the town of Fairbank? appeared a giant inflatable electric turbine. In fact, similar turbines are not new in the world, but the turbine from Alaska due to its design features has become a real innovation. The fact is that in addition to its direct task, the Fairbank turbine is also a traveling Wi-Fi hotspot. The turbine can hang in the air at altitudes of up to 1,000 feet and thus cover a small town with the Internet. Thanks to a turbine with an access point, the Internet can literally be delivered to anywhere in the northern region. It is worth noting that with the help of such turbines, only higher flying, scientists are going to cover the entire earth with the Internet.
As for the turbine itself and its immediate task, on a windy day it can provide electricity to a small house or even a small village. When the turbine is connected to the battery, it can “store” energy in reserve. In the air, the turbine is kept thanks to helium pumped into it.
For transportation of all constructions it is quite enough one snowmobile without additional ballast. If necessary, the ballast can be hung on the turbine itself, in order to keep it lower.
Hang gliding turbines like those over Fairbank have become normal for Alaska. Despite the rather high cost of such a turbine, the benefits of the locals from it are simply enormous, especially after the turbine Fairbank had its own Wi-Fi transmitter.
The mobile turbine is used not only in cities, but also in the wilderness, where it can be sent with a group on snowmobiles. The turbines are especially valuable for research teams, who often have to live in special complexes that can be empty for several months a year.
