NASA plans in 2021 to open a greenhouse on Mars

NASA announced plans to send flower seeds on its next Mars Rover. Seeds will be contained in a greenhouse to avoid contamination of the planet.

This space Agency is going to send the seeds of the next Mars Rover, which is scheduled to launch in mid-2020, and its arrival on the Red planet will take place in 2021.

The mission is aimed at creating a Martian greenhouse, which, if successful, could pave the way for people.

The representative of the Agency Heather Smith says: "in order to create long-term reliable base on Mars, I would like to know exactly can plants grow on this planet. This is the first step: we will send the seeds and see how they grow." Is scheduled to arrive on Mars about 200 seeds of Arabidopsis, a small flowering plant. Then, within 15 days, the scientists expect to see signs of life, like terrestrial plants cope with high levels of radiation and low gravity on this planet.
