The most energy efficient building in the world

A unique building called "Kjørbo". It occupies 2600 square feet and is located on the waterfront Sandvika (Oslo suburb). Before reconstruction annually for maintenance of this building had about 650,000 kWh of energy, after the upgrade reduced energy consumption up to 100,000 kWh per year.

Generate energy the solar panel located on the building. They will be able to annually produce 200000 kWh of energy. Tight docking of walls, ceilings, Windows, and insulation have allowed developers to minimize heat loss. Facade shading and lining concrete slabs can significantly reduce heating of the building in the summer.

In the office there are several companies which have focused on the development of the initiative for the construction of energy efficient buildings: construction company Skanska, environmental organization ZERO, aluminum supplier Hydro and firm Entra Eiendom property management.
