SolarCity launches unique solar service in Nevada

SolarCity is launching its first service in Nevada. The nation’s largest solar power provider will make it possible for many Las Vegas homeowners to install solar panels for free and start paying less for solar power than they pay for electricity generated by local power companies.

SolarCity can offer Nevada homeowners a chance to join the solar industry for as little as $30 a month, which includes design, installation, financing, insurance, monitoring and warranty.

SolarCity will start taking first orders from Nevada homeowners this month. The company will work together with Nevada utility NV Energy. SolarCity expects to begin installation in late October and will serve customers on a first-come, first-served basis. The company will initially serve NV Energy customers in greater Las Vegas, including cities such as Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Spring Valley, Winchester, Paradise, Henderson and Boulder City.

SolarCity has already hired more than 400 people in Nevada.
Hire more than 400 over the next year. Applicants interested in employment in Nevada can view available positions and contact SolarCity on their own.

Nevada has the potential to become one of the largest solar markets in America. The state has one of the highest solar insolation volumes of any state in America, and Las Vegas is the third sunniest city in the country, according to the National Climate Data Center.
