Red flat lichen - symptoms and treatment

A 60-year-old man complained of itching, redness and rashes on his back. The neoplasm appeared after severe stress. Since the beginning of the rash, according to the patient, 10 days have passed. There was no therapy.

Red flat lichen is an inflammatory disease of human skin and mucous membranes. The disease can be acute and chronic. Clinical signs are itching, rash in the form of red papules on the skin and milky-white formations on the mucous membranes (especially often on the mucous membrane of the mouth and the red border of the lips).
Etiology and pathogenesis
The disease has an autoimmune nature, as well as a genetic predisposition according to the autosomal dominant type.
The main theories of the development of red flat are:

• nervous (stress, effective hypnosis, reflex-segmental therapy)
• Viral (change in the body’s immune response)
• toxic-allergic (development of an isolated red flat on the mucous membrane of the mouth).

Treatment
Local treatment Local corticosteroid therapy is performed. With mild and moderate severity of the disease, occlusive bandages are used. With severe, unbearable itching, injection therapy is carried out (injections of triamcinolone 3 mg / ml into the lesion).
With severe damage to the oral cavity, rinsing with cyclosporine solution is used.
General treatment
With severe itching, a short course of prednisone per os is prescribed, a start with 70 mg / ml and a daily dose reduction of 5 mg / ml.
Retinoids are prescribed for very severe cases in addition to topical treatment.
Cyclosporin 5 mg / kg / day with generalized rashes.
