The Plastic World of Irma Grünholz
I'm sure many of you sculpted plasticine as children. You may be doing this regularly with your children. This material is often not taken seriously enough. Plasticine is something very soft, very malleable, prone to rapid destruction and even changing shapes under the influence of minor external factors. Such material is suitable only for entertainment or so that the sculptor can quickly find the necessary forms for his creation. However, there are artists who are happy to use this material and create wonderful works.
Spanish artist and plasticine sculptor Irma Grünholz uses plasticine for just such purposes. Her works are both illustrations and sculptures and installations. Improvised scenes with touching stories and stories.
In plasticine creativity, she has achieved quite great success. After the staged plasticine scene is over, she captures it on her camera and receives a shot, which is then used as an illustration. Such photo illustrations are excellent for printed publications of children's literature. Simple in appearance, but difficult to perform illustrative art.
