The weather does not affect back pain

A study by Australian scientists shows that the sudden lumbar pain not linked to weather conditions. Were analyzed the collected data on 993 patients and compared them with data from the Australian Bureau of meteorology. The scientists compared the complaints of the patients with the weather conditions for the week and month before the onset of symptoms. The results showed no connection between back pain and temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind direction and precipitation. However, higher jump hourly weather and wind is really a bit increased back pain, but the amount of increase was not clinically significant.

Dr. Daniel Steffens (University of Sydney) is convinced: "Our results refute beliefs that certain common weather conditions increase risk of lower back pain. Now we need further studies of the influence of weather parameters on symptoms associated with specific diseases: fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis."

According to the world health organization, almost everyone experiences low back pain at some point in life, making them the most common disorder of musculoskeletal system which affects up to 33% of the population of the globe.
